New special editions of the 2012 Toyota Aygo revealed
The 2012 Toyota Aygo has yet to reach showrooms, but we’re already getting two limited editions – the Toyota Aygo Fire and Aygo Ice. The Toyota Aygo has been given a bit of a refresh for 2012 – just like its Peugeot and Citroen cousins – and even before the 2012 Aygo hits showrooms in the UK Toyota has announced a pair of special editions – the Aygo Fire and Aygo Ice. Both the Aygo Ice and Aygo Fire come with the freshly tweaked 1.0 litre VVT-I petrol engine, which now delivers sub-100g/km emissions and economy improved to 65.7mpg, as well as the tweaks to the nose, new LEDs, restyled bumpers, tinted glass and the smallest of interior tweaks.

Land speed record holders Andy Green and Richard Noble are teaming up set a new land speed record, they announced today. The pair are preparing to break through the 1000mph barrier for the first time, 12 years after they set today's 763mph record. The two speed specialists today launch the Bloodhound Project – which will sire a 6.4-tonne supersonic car.

This is our first look at the new Ford Focus family – in C-Max, midi-MPV form. Now called just the straightforward C-Max, having dropped the Focus part of its name, the new car will be shown at the 2009 Frankfurt motor show. However, there’s still quite a long wait until you can actually buy the new C-Max – it won’t roll into Blue Oval dealers until autumn 2010, when it will pitch into battle with the Renault Scenic and Vauxhall Zafira.
